I hate writing these things but this is my site about me so I will try and keep this as supastah free as possible.
Cubed is my moniker, a Broken Beat DJ from Calgary, Alberta and I have been spinning records since about 2004 or 5, while listening to ‘Electronic Music’ since 2001. At least, thats when I really started focusing on it as a whole new landscape of music that I didn’t really understand at the time. Before that my notions of music were Rock, Country, Rap, Classical, and Rhythm and Blues (thanks to my Dad and Uncle), and this ‘Techno’ stuff. When I moved to Calgary I started going to these ‘rave’ parties I found out about from a friend and the Internet. I soon met new people and gradually started delving into what this umbrella term Techno was hiding.
Broken Beats were the first style I was drawn too, and has generally superseded most, if not all other ‘Whole beat’ music (for the differences, I refer you to my Mixes page).
Musically it is my passion and love. Though I love all other music on some level, the stuff I play is carefully selected by me as the best in whatever genre I am playing. Drum and Bass, Jungle, GlitchHop, Dubstep and Breaks. No style is safe from my Machinations.
My mixing focus is to keep things tight, and seamless. My track selection is my pride and I champion the Heavy Bass and Well Crafted Beats.
